
The YEARS Project is a multi-platform education and communications effort designed to elevate climate change as the issue of our time and stimulate an international conversation to encourage collective action by the public, legislators and business leaders. The Guardian described The YEARS Project as the “most important climate change multimedia communication effort in history.”
The YEARS Project has generously donated the screening rights to Seasons 1 & 2 to BRAVE | Social Cinema for screenings in Barrie, Ontario. The Years of Living Dangerously will be our flagship screening feature throughout the 2019 and 2020 BRAVE Seasons.
The project began as a television series, YEARS OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY, Season One of which aired on SHOWTIME in 2014 and won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Nonfiction Series. Season Two aired in the late fall 2016 on NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and was seen in 171 countries and 45 languages. The TV series was executive produced by JAMES CAMERON, ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, the late JERRY WEINTRAUB and MARIA WILHELM. The project was created by former 60 MINUTES producers JOEL BACH and DAVID GELBER.The YEARS Project is now the leading storytelling entity on climate change on social media, with five separate climate shows on Facebook Watch and an international reach of almost 250 million people.
